What Is a Via Ferrata?
A Via Ferrata is a secured climbing route that allows you to progress safely along rock walls or steep areas, using metal elements and a continuous lifeline cable. Originating in the Italian Alps during World War I to facilitate troop movements, it has evolved into an adventure sport combining hiking and basic climbing. Today, Via Ferrata is a popular recreational activity throughout Europe. With a harness, energy absorber, and special carabiners, participants are attached to the cable and can safely navigate the equipped sections without prior experience. In Spain, routes like Montserrat and El Chorro are famous for their breathtaking views and accessibility, offering a safe and exciting experience.
